2017 Susan Greiser Price Arts and Learning Symposium

Reaching and Teaching Students with Autism

2017 Susan Greiser Price Arts and Learning Symposium

Students on the autism spectrum present valuable opportunities for learning and teaching.  Unfortunately, many educators struggle to meet their social, emotional, and educational needs.  Arts integration provides a wide range of strategies to inspire, engage, and educate students with autism.  Moreover, these instructional strategies also benefit other learners.

This event is designed to build working partnerships between K-12, university, and community members to strengthen arts access for all learners.  Essentially, this symposium offers interactive experiences and resources to increase high quality arts education in P-20 schools that serve students with autism.

Although this event is offered free, registration is required. The symposium will open at 8 a.m. and close at 2 p.m.

Activities include:
  • Artists' Panel
  • Breakout Sessions
  • Art Exhibit
  • Interactive Art Stations
  • References and Resources Room
  • Student Performances
  • Lunch
