New Venture Competition 2015

The Cal Lutheran Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is starting a New Venture Competition, designed to give you an understanding of what it’s like to start your own business. The competition is open to all Cal Lutheran students, grad and undergrad. You will learn essential skills needed to launch a start-up and compete for cash prizes. There is no experience of any kind necessary to participate.

NVC participant and team registration are now open. There are two parts to registration:

  1. Individual Registration – Everyone who’s interested in participating in the NVC should complete the individual registration form. There’s no obligation to participate. We just want to know who’s interested. Remember, you don’t need prior experience, and the NVC is open toall students. Even if you’re just a little curious about starting a business, please sign up. At the very least we can stop emailing the entire student body. Much as we’d like to think otherwise, some of you may not be interested in the NVC.
  2. Business Idea and Team Registration – Have a great business idea that you want to enter into the NVC? Already have a team formed? Great! You’re ready to go. Complete the business idea & team registration form. If you already have a team formed, only one team member needs to complete the form. If you have an idea you want to enter but no team, please complete the form, and we’ll try to find you teammates. You can change your business idea during the competition, so there’s no need to get it exactly right now.

Please register for the NVC by Fri, Dec. 19. We’d like to know who’s interested by then so that we can be ready to start the NVC in January.

Remember that forming a team is every bit as important as having a great idea. You will be allowed to change your business idea during the competition. It is important that you have teammates who are as excited about learning to start a business as you are.

Please email or call me if you have any questions.
