Ann Sobel is a seasoned executive who has served the non-profit sector for more than 35 years, working with organizations of many types and sizes. Ann has experience with assessing community needs, business model planning and volunteer resource management. As a ‘turn-around’ specialist, Ann has helped non-profit groups reassess direction, rework business models and help boards understand their roles and responsibilities. Helping people to achieve their goals, she works as a hands-on member of the team with the board, staff, volunteers, and clients to bring the organization to its full potential.
From her childhood, Ann saw her parents giving to the community. She watched and learned. Eventually she realized that giving to the community can be a rewarding career. While in college at California State University Fresno, Ann began working for the American Red Cross. Her 26-year career there took her from program coordinator to the role of managing all Red Cross units in the state of California.
In 2005, Ann opened AMS Consulting with the mission of helping non-profits through CEO changes and facilitating the CEO search. Serving as interim CEO for organizations, Ann provided the leadership necessary to navigate the waters of transition.
In 2012, Ann became affiliated with Our Community House of Hope, an end-of- life care home for those without anyone or anyplace to be for their last weeks of life. As the executive director, Ann serves as the administrative leader of the organization.
Ann is a resident of Moorpark and mother of two adult children.
