About this event

Join us for the November Nonprofit Leadership Council luncheon program and learn why achieving an accurate Census 2020 county is a major issue for local nonprofits.  At this month Council meeting, leaders from throughout the local nonprofit sector will have an opportunity to brainstorm strategies, mobilize their networks and help make sure that Ventura County is counted!  A presentation will be made by Ventura County 2020 Census Taskforce followed by table discussions among local leaders.  Lunch will be served.

About the Council

A signature program of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership, the Ventura County Nonprofit Leadership Council (the Council) is a collective of social sector leaders who seek to advance philanthropy and strengthen nonprofit leadership in our region.

Each year, the Council offers a series of five topic-driven convenings that serve as a forum for both seasoned and emerging nonprofit leaders to network with colleagues and peers, deepen understanding of important sector issues and develop a shared voice to influence and advocate on behalf the sector.

Stewarded by a dedicated volunteer steering committee, the Council itself is a point of convergence for the sector and affords a unique opportunity for leaders across the county to gather, explore collaborative relationships, and build their own professional development networks.

Convenings are held every other month, September – May, with a focus on topics relevant to leaders in the field.  Each meeting is chaired by a local nonprofit leader with panel presentations and content experts facilitating meaningful dialogue, reflection and small group discussion.

Who Should Attend?

The intended audience of the Council’s programs is both emerging and established nonprofit and civic leaders, regardless of position, rank or title.  The programs are designed to attract & engage key sector leaders, influencers and decision makers who care deeply about improving the philanthropic sector serving our region.  Intended audiences may shift in light of the program’s focus topic, but all are welcome to attend – individual philanthropists, board members, staff and volunteers.

Individuals can participate in the Council and attend all five sessions by becoming a Center for Nonprofit Leadership member or by attending individual sessions for $35 each.
