About this event

Welcome 2020! Join us for the first Nonprofit Leadership Council meeting of the New Year, co-convened with the Ventura County Community Foundation. This session will focus on the extensive studies commissioned by VCCF on the donor landscape in Ventura County, including rich data on wealth trends, donor preferences and how nonprofits can be prepared and positioned for the largest generational transfer of wealth in our nation's history.

Key findings will be presented, followed by a moderated panel discussion with local philanthropists, professional advisors and nonprofit leaders.

Special thanks to VCCF for hosting lunch.  There is no fee to attend, but RSVP a must. If your availability changes after registering to attend, please contact Leanne Blackwell at blackwell@callutheran.edu to free your space for another attendee.

About the Council

A signature program of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership, the Ventura County Nonprofit Leadership Council (the Council) is a collective of social sector leaders who seek to advance philanthropy and strengthen nonprofit leadership in our region.

Each year, the Council offers a series of five topic-driven convenings that serve as a forum for both seasoned and emerging nonprofit leaders to network with colleagues and peers, deepen understanding of important sector issues and develop a shared voice to influence and advocate on behalf the sector.

Stewarded by a dedicated volunteer steering committee, the Council itself is a point of convergence for the sector and affords a unique opportunity for leaders across the county to gather, explore collaborative relationships, and build their own professional development networks.

Convenings are held every other month, September – May, with a focus on topics relevant to leaders in the field.  Each meeting is chaired by a local nonprofit leader with panel presentations and content experts facilitating meaningful dialogue, reflection and small group discussion.

Who Should Attend?

The intended audience of the Council’s programs is both emerging and established nonprofit and civic leaders, regardless of position, rank or title.  The programs are designed to attract & engage key sector leaders, influencers and decision makers who care deeply about improving the philanthropic sector serving our region.  Intended audiences may shift in light of the program’s focus topic, but all are welcome to attend – individual philanthropists, board members, staff and volunteers.
