The Center for the Study of Economics of Social Issues (SESI) in its original title as " The Center for Leadership and Values (CLV)" was formed in the School of Business at California Lutheran University in 1999 by Dr. Charles Maxey, former Dean and Professor of Management and Dr. Jamshid Damooei, Professor of Economics as the founding Co-directors of the center. The Center for the Study of Economics of Social Issues (SESI) is directed by Dr. Jamshid Damooei.
Our primary purpose is to explore economic aspects of social progress, health, human rights, environment, and other important issues within the university and in the larger community. To fulfill our purposes, we host speakers, serves as a clearinghouse and resource center for pertinent literature, and conducts relevant research.
