Complicating an HSI Identity

Keynote with honored speaker Gina Ann Garcia, PhD

Complicating an HSI Identity

Join Gina Ann Garcia, PhD for an inspiring night as she defines what it means for Cal Lutheran to be a Hispanic-Serving Institute (HSI).

In this keynote address, Dr. Garcia will provide an exclusive overview of her HSI research, including how this identity is conceptualized by both situational outcomes and culture. Garcia aspires to demonstrate how complicated, multifaceted and transitional an HSI’s identity can be and that with commitment and engaging conversations, Cal Lutheran can transform from a Latinx-enrolling to Latinx-serving institute.
