Spend the Day with Donalyn Miller
Workshop: Voice and Choice
Join us for the day as Donalyn Miller speaks about engaging and motivating lifelong readers in a workshop titled "Voice and Choice." While students are learning the skills of reading, they must also develop a positive reading identity to remain readers. By negotiating both academic and students’ reading choices, and providing opportunities for students to share and promote their authentic responses to what they read, we can increase young readers’ engagement and effort. In this session, Miller shares classroom examples, relevant research, instructional moves, and strategies for supporting young readers as they grow into lifelong readers.
Admission is free as a service to the community. Limited seating is on a first come, first serve basis to our CRLP friends and partners. Breakfast refreshments and lunch are included. Workshop runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration is required and is now open.
