Educator Workshop: Reading Art as Text

Maureen Reilly Lorimer, Cal Lutheran associate professor of education, will present a workshop designed to foster inquiry and critical thinking skills to promote literacy and lifelong love of reading! 

Through interactive “reading” of visual art images, participants will:

• Acquire a research-based rationale for using “art as text” strategies
• Connect strategies to content standards, comprehension and collaboration
• Link strategies with ELA/ELD Framework, emphasizing speaking and writing

Come spark engaging conversations with peers and be inspired in new approaches to enhanced literacy for all learners, including ELD and ELL students.
