2018 Susan Greiser Price Arts and Learning Symposium: From STEM to STEAM
This event is designed to build working partnerships between educators at all levels from preschool to the university, and also between educators and the public, to strengthen visual and performing arts access for all learners. Given the current emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in conversations about P-20 education, it is important to seek authentic curriculum integration between STEM fields and the arts or, in other words, to turn STEM into STEAM.
The symposium begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. ALLIES in STEM Director Lorenzo Ramirez, PhD, will deliver the keynote address. Activities include breakout sessions, an art exhibit and interactive art stations. Lunch is provided.
Admission is free but registration is required.
