About
Rustin Comer has been serving in ministry for 19 years. Bethel Encino is his first ELCA church to serve and he has been the pastor since December of 2008. Rustin is currently finishing his PhD in Ethics, Theology, and Culture from Claremont Graduate University. His thesis is on the development of a greed calculator and the establishment of a greed threshold for use in faith communities. Rustin has been an Adjunct at CLU for 6 years. He has taught as an adjunct at two other Universities in Boston Ma.
Rustin has written and taught in the areas of Fundamental Moral Theology, Liberation Theology, Church Development, Ethics of Globalization, Interfaith Ethics, Biblical Ethics, and Spirituality.
Rustin’s key life values are to pursue the love of God and humanity. To help create a more just world. He believes deeply that the church can and should make a difference in world in which we live. He loves to speak, read, paint, cook, have great wine and spend time with his wife Heather.
