Project Acabado

Embracing STEM Completion

Begin with the end in mind.

Project Acabado is a collaborative grant between California Lutheran University and Oxnard College to increase STEM college-preparedness, student enrollment-retention, and transfer and graduation rates in Ventura County—particularly among underserved students.

With community effort from educators, learners, families, and systems thinkers, Project Acabado aims to cultivate the conditions and provide the resources for future STEM professionals to aspire and attain their bachelor degree.

Curated programs and student-centered services help STEM college students advance in their careers with:

  • A community of support, peer mentorship, and engagement helps to build student resiliency.
  • A continuum of outreach and education, from K-12 to bachelor's degree completion, addresses college preparedness.
  • Guided pathways from a regional 2-year to 4-year Hispanic-serving Institutions (HSIs) like ours, increases the opportunities for Hispanic, under-represented, and low income students to attain degrees in the STEM fields.
