COVID-19 case

Dear Cal Lutheran Community,

I am writing to let you know that an employee tested positive for COVID-19 and may have been contagious while working on our Thousand Oaks campus.

The employee, who received the positive result today, may have been contagious before experiencing symptoms while working on campus on Tuesday.

Health Services conducted contract tracing and, in consultation with Ventura County Public Health, determined a very limited number of Cal Lutheran community members may have been exposed to the virus. Those individuals are being contacted and directed to get tested and to quarantine.

The employee is recovering from mild symptoms and isolating at home.

We will continue to monitor all developments, take action to protect the health of our community and keep you informed through emails and updates to our COVID-19 webpage. We will notify the campus community about COVID-19 cases if the timeline indicates there is a chance that the people were contagious when they were at Cal Lutheran locations. Please follow all of the directives and guidance on our COVID-19 website to protect yourself and others.

Remember to report COVID-19 symptoms, testing and test results to Covid19reporting@callutheran.edu.

If you have any questions, email covidquestions@callutheran.edu.

Thank you for all you are doing to keep our community safe and healthy.

Director, Emergency Operations Center
Associate Vice President, Operations and Planning
