COVID-19 Dashboard

Cal Lutheran Staff, Faculty, and Students,

We have launched a COVID-19 Dashboard on our KNOW site to provide updated data on positive cases within our community. Going forward, we will no longer notify everyone by email if someone tests positive and may have been contagious while on Cal Lutheran property.

The dashboard shows the number of new cases and the total cases to date broken down by site for the Thousand Oaks campus, PLTS and our Oxnard, Woodland Hills and Westlake centers. It also indicates how many people living on our Thousand Oaks campus are currently in isolation and quarantine. The dashboard will be updated every Tuesday.

While we will no longer send emails when cases emerge, we will continue to quickly notify anyone in the Cal Lutheran community who had close contact during the contagious period with someone who tests positive. Most close contacts are people who were within six feet of an infected person for 10 to 15 minutes starting from 48 hours before the person began feeling sick until the time the person went into isolation. Even people who wore face coverings can be considered a close contact. In addition to the very thorough contact tracing done by our team of 10 staff members, we can also review card-access records for buildings and security videos to identify contacts. Typically, our team concludes contact tracing and notification of close contacts within a few hours of learning about positive test results. All close contacts will be directed to quarantine and get tested for COVID-19.

Remember to report COVID-19 symptoms, testing and test results toCOVID19reporting@callutheran.edu. Employees should also notify their supervisor.

I hope that you find the new COVID-19 Dashboard to be a convenient resource. You can locate it by scrolling down to the middle of the KNOW homepage.

Sincerely,

Ryan Van Ommeren
Director, Emergency Operations Center
Associate VP, Operations and Planning
