Updated Travel Guidelines
Dear Residential Students,
We are writing to let you know that the California Department of Public Health released an updated travel advisory on January 6 that reduced the required quarantine period from 14 days to 10 days for those traveling to California from other states and countries. As a result, we will only be requiring our out-of-state and international students to complete a 10-day quarantine period upon move-in.
The 10-day quarantine begins on the first day that a student enters the state of California. If you are planning to arrive in California ahead of your scheduled move-in date, please be prepared to show proof of your arrival date — a travel document with your name on it — at move-in. Your quarantine dates will be adjusted upon presentation of documentation.
Students traveling from other states or countries will move directly into their spring housing assignment for the travel quarantine and can only leave for essential activities like getting food from Ullman Dining or grocery store, retrieving medications or necessities, and doctor appointments.
If you are traveling from afar and are looking to stay in a local hotel, the Hampton Inn and Suites has offered a reduced rate for Cal Lutheran students and families. Simply ask for the Cal Lutheran rate on your reservation.
Please contact our office with any other questions you may have. Safe travels!
