Own It: Thinking like an owner in business and life

Paul Orfalea has been an owner his entire life. As a young man, he owned his dyslexia and ADHD, creating personal advantages. As a budding entrepreneur, he owned the needs and problems of his customers, turning them into opportunities upon which he launched a startup. As the CEO of a rapidly growing business, he owned the challenges of motivating co-workers, managing cash flow and finding new opportunities to exploit. As an educator and philanthropist, he has owned an obligation to ensure that the next generation of entrepreneurs learns from his experience.

In this month’s Entrepreneur Speaker Series lecture, Paul Orfalea will share his philosophy on thinking like an owner and how it can lead to a life well lived.

Key takeaways:

  • How owners think differently
  • The importance of ownership in running a business and tackling life
  • Thinking long-term
  • Making tough decisions
  • Managing a business vs. managing a career
