2018 New Venture Competition

Student teams participated in the 2018 New Venture Fair and presented their startup ideas, ranging from a virtual reality application for athletics to a solution for emergency care. Students from the Undergraduate Business Administration program, MBA, MSIT, as well as the College of Arts and Sciences (Computer Science, Physics, and Communications) pitched their startups to a general audience and judges. Prizes were awarded to a variety of categories including: Best Pitch Local - (Nick Loomis, Garrett Kay, Austin Janik), Best Booth - RecruitU (Chad Taylor), Best Brochure - Red Rose Project(Brianna Bryan), Best Minimum Viable Product - FamWe (Evan Brandt). Overall winners, who will also move on to the New Venture Competition, are Production Hog (Lour Vosilla), Virtual Athletics(Austin Janik, Joshua Janik), Liborio Markets(Daniel Medina), FamWe and RedRose Project. The People’s Choice Award went to Virtual Athletics. We congratulate and thank all teams that participated - ShopSmart(Matthew Hart), Emergency Hospital Bed Tracking System (Deepthi Venkatesh), FoTi (Nick Keithley) and FrienU (Ivan Martinez).
