CERF 2018 Valley Economic Forecast
On May 16, our Center for Economic Research and Forecasting (CERF) held its 2018 Valley Economic Forecast at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Woodland Hills. The event was attended by leaders from various industries and provided a unique and very positive outlook on the San Fernando Valley's economic future. Since 2014, the SFV's growth in GPP has outpaced the economies of neighboring areas, and especially output from IT and the motion picture industry has grown by 75% over 10 years. Matthew Fienupand Dan Hamilton at CERF forecasts growth of 3.2 percent for 2018 and 3.0 percent for 2019, thereby again outpacing LA County, the State of California, and the US as a whole. CERF's economic forecast is currently the only one that offers data that is specific to the San Fernando Valley, one of the most important economic areas on Southern California.
