The depth of partnering in our business community
Recently, a group of students from our Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) and our Business Administration programs visited the AmaWaterways headquarters in Calabasas, where they were welcomed by founders Kristin Karst (Executive Vice-President) and Rudi Schreiner (President), as well as the Chief-Marketing Officer, Janet Bava.
The AmaWaterways team provided great insights into the river-cruise business and engaged in lively discussions with the students. AmaWaterways is one of the global market leaders in river-cruises, with a fleet of ships on rivers in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
They have generously supported the development and start of our HTM program and currently employs two Cal Lutheran interns along with several full-time alums.
The group was led by Stefan Cosentino, HTM Program Director, and joined by Christy Douglass, Cal Lutheran alumna and faculty leader for Moorpark College's Hospitality program.
