CLU Selects Vice President for Marketing and Communications

Ritch K. Eich, Ph.D., began his service as CLU's Vice President for Marketing and Communications on July 21. In his new role, Eich will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic communications and marketing program designed to enhance the University's image regionally and nationally. Among his responsibilities will be overseeing the offices and staff of University Relations, Public Information, Publications, Special Events and Sports Information. He will also oversee the CLU Web site and the University's award–winning NPR station, KCLU–FM.

Teachers Get Into Science with CLU's Amgen Summer Science Institute

More than 60 local science teachers are going beyond the world of Bunsen burners and test tubes this month as they participate in the Amgen Summer Science Institute at CLU. The program, which includes generous stipends, is geared to middle and high school science teachers to improve science education in their classrooms.

CLU, CSUCI Partner to Present State Math Institute for Local Teachers

California Lutheran University and California State University Channel Islands have again joined forces to present the California Mathematics Project Leadership Institute, a two–week grant–supported institute geared toward local math teachers. The California Mathematics Project is one of nine California Subject Matter Projects and is governed through the University of California's Office of the President.
