Sodexho opens Centrum Cafe

LA–Style Bistro Offers New Cuisine Options on Campus

Move over Wolfgang Puck! Chefs in the new Centrum Café in the Orville Dahl Centrum are firing up the Italian brick ovens to make gourmet pizzas. They are also creating California cuisine favorites like Thai beef salad and spicy California wraps.

The newly–designed Café, which officially opened on Nov. 11, is now a bustling LA–style eatery complete with espresso drinks and patio seating.

The new bistro–style eatery even offers pizza deliveries to residence halls from 4:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Students can use their meal plans and munch–money is readily accepted at the Centrum Café. It is a welcomed addition to the CLU campus because it offers a great meeting spot for members of the community.

The summer–long projects of redesigning the Centrum and adding to the cafeteria have been well received by students who returned this fall to find made–to–order juice bars, a Rim Fusion section and vegetarian/vegan dishes in the caf, says Martin Finfrock, director of Sodexho Food Services at CLU. Lunch and dinner themes featuring sushi chefs, fresh pastas and international sandwiches served on colorful fiesta dinnerware make eating in the college "caf" or the café more like dining in a restaurant.

The new Centrum Café is open from 7 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
