THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Playing at Mount Clef Stadium for this first time this season, the Cal Lutheran women’s soccer team dominated Austin College (Tex.) 3-0 Sunday afternoon in the Regals final non-conference game of the year.

Cal Lutheran would get all the goals they needed with Taylor Will’s first half hat-trick. The Regals got on the scoreboard first goal when Will made a sliding shot after a great through ball from Kainoa Becker.

Will’s second goal came 10 minutes later as she converted on a break-away and the third came after a beautiful cross from Mayra Virgen that Will one-touched into the back of the net.

With the hat-trick, Will’s season goal total is up to 10, tops in the SCIAC. Today’s hat-trick also pushes the sophomore’s career total to 29, which now places her tenth place all-time for career goals at CLU.

Austin College had their best scoring-chance in the 78th minute when Ariel Marder corralled a Regal loose ball and broke away towards the goal but CLU goalkeeper Karly Loberg raced out and made a sliding block to end the Kangaroos attack.

Cal Lutheran would coast the rest of the second half as 18 different Regals played in the half.

Loberg recorded her first shutout of the season while her defenders Anna Medler, Stephanie Gilbert, Kirsten DiPippo and Mallory Carcich all held the Kangaroos to just four shots in the game.

Becker got her first start of the season and Deanna Dakar made her CLU debut Sunday.

Sunday’s win pushes Cal Lutheran’s overall record to 12-2 while Austin College drops to 4-8-1.

CLU will be back action next when the SCIAC-leading Regals host second place Redlands this Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 7:00 p.m. in Rolland Stadium.

Box Score: CLU 3 AC 0
