Kingsmen Run to PRs at Distance Carnival

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Lifetime best marks were reached for four Kingsmen as a number of Cal Lutheran track and field members competed at the 2013 Occidental Distance Carnival last night.

Dominick Allen worked his way into seventh on the CLU top-10 list in the 800m with a season best time of 1:56.31. He was the second Division III athlete to cross the line and placed 13th in a field of 87.

After missing the entire 2012 spring season with an injury and not being able to take a running step for over six months, Shawn Jackson ran at his lifetime best in the 5K with a time of 17:00.87.

In his first 5K on a track David Avila ran a 16:22.56.

Both Nick Privitelli and Matt Garvin set personal bests running the 1500m and 5000m, respectively. Privitelli finished his race in 4:09.23, a four second PR while Garvin took 14 seconds off his 5K time, clocking a 15:56.89.

Also running for the Kingsmen was Dylan Perriseau and who clocked a time of 2:02.87 in the 800m.

Cal Lutheran will travel to Redlands on Saturday, March 23 to compete in a SCIAC Quad meet with La Verne, Redlands and Whittier. Events are set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
