BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The 2013 Cal Lutheran men’s water polo team enters the season ranked No. 5 by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) as the Kingsmen return a dozen players from 2012 and welcome a strong incoming class.

In order for CLU to climb the national ranks they will need to defeat three Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rivals as Pomona-Pitzer claimed the top spot in Division III with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Whittier hauling in the third and fourth rankings, respectively.

CLU opens the season on Saturday, Sept. 7 against a pair of Division I teams in Loyola Marymount and Long Beach State University at the UCSD Invitational. The first sprint of the season is set for 8:30 a.m. against the Lions with the LBSU game to follow at 1:00 p.m.
