  • 2017 Faculty Winter Retreat, "Beyond the Lecture: Active Learning Inside and Outside the Classroom," Tues., Jan. 17, 8:45am-1:30pm, LundringJoin your esteemed Cal Lutheran colleagues as we prepare for a new semester by engaging in pedagogical activities. Topics will include conflict resolution and role-playing in the classroom. Participants will have the opportunity to take field trips, visit the SEEd Garden and learn of yoga pedagogy.  Click here for full program. Please come casual!   • As you prepare your Spring syllabi, click here for a list of important dates and events.
     
  • Adjunct and Faculty overload contracts for the Spring Semester will be run on the first day of classes, Wed., Jan. 18. They will be mailed on Fri., Jan. 20. If your enrollment goes up after the first day of classes, or you add a tutorial, you will need to notify Karissa Oien at koien@callutheran.edu for your contract to be updated. The contracts are paid out February through May.
     
  • Festival of Scholars: The last day to plan a session to be included in the 2017 Festival of Scholars is Jan. 27, 2017. Please complete the Session Request Form and return to fos@callutheran.edu or Ashley Fessenden at MC 1425.

  • Paul B. Thompson, W.K. Kellogg Professor of Agricultural, Food and Community Ethics at Michigan State University, will present the Harold Stoner Clark Lectures onTues., Feb. 21 at 11:10 am on “Four Archetypes for Future Food Systems” and at 4:00 pm on “Social Amplification of Risk: The Ethical Questions,” both in Samuelson Chapel. A pre-lecture discussion will take place on Fri., Feb. 17 from 11:45-12:45 in Lundring. The goal of this discussion is to provide faculty, staff, and students with a familiarity of the topics of the HSC lectures so that they may be more enjoyable and understandable.
