  • Harold Stoner Clark Lecture Series presents Paul B. Thompson, W.K. Kellogg Professor of Agricultural, Food and Community Ethics at Michigan State Univ., speaking Tues., Feb 21 in Samuelson Chapel.   • SABBATICAL DEADLINE – Wed., Feb. 15 is the deadline to submit your Request for Sabbatical Leave for the 2018-19 Academic Year. In order to be eligible for a sabbatical, faculty members must have completed six academic years of continuous service as a full-time member of the faculty, or have completed six years of continuous full-time service since May of their last sabbatical year. Click here to access the new “Request for Sabbatical Leave” eForm.  Click here to access instructions for the eForm. These links can also be found on the Academic Affairs website under Faculty Resources and Forms. You will receive a confirmation email that your request has been submitted. If you do not receive this, you must contact Academic Affairs before the deadline as your request has NOT been received.   • Academic Difficulty Notices (ADNS) for Traditional Undergraduates: The official reporting period for ADNs closes this Fri., Feb. 17. Please submit unsatisfactory grades for your students who are earning a C- or below through WebAdvisor by the end of the week. Only one submission per student in a particular class is requested to help identify the students who might be struggling early on in the semester. The Center for Student Success will reach out to these students and offer support. Keep in mind that last day to withdraw with a "W" is April 6.   • Paloma Vargas (HSI and Biology Department) and Kirstie Hettinga (Communication Department) are seeking first-generation faculty to participate in a video project that will provide “words of wisdom” to incoming and/or current first-generation students. The goal of the project is to 1. dispel any myths/misconceptions of first-generation college goers, 2. encourage students to talk to more faculty, 3. create an opportunity for students to learn via experiential learning, and 4. allow students to contribute to HSI efforts.
