  • The Cal Lutheran Theatre Department is producing the play The Nordic Princess Breaks the Ice, Fri., Mar. 10 and Sat. Mar. 11, 8pm, Preus-Brandt Forum. It is the story of one women living with osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease). Written and acted by Marty McCambridge and directed by Michael McCambridge (Education), Marty takes us through her life long journey with brittle bone disease by telling her story with humor, with song, and with the pain of breaking 58 bones along the way. The message is educational, entertaining, and hopeful as we experience osteogenesis imperfecta. A free will offering will be taken going to the Osteogenesis Foundation.
     
  • String Trio ConcertSat., Mar. 11, 4pm, Rolland Art Gallery. Back by popular demand, the Los Angeles String Kollektiv will perform works in relation to the exhibition Et in Arcadia Ego, featuring guest cellist Virginia Kron.
     
  • The Student Life Committee is requesting faculty nominations for students who would make excellent commencement speakers! Please recommend undergraduate students (scheduled to graduate in May 2017) who you think could share their inspiring stories in a 2-minute speech at Commencement.   • Traditional Undergraduate registration appointments for Fall 17 will be from Mar. 27-Apr. 3. Student registration appointments are from 5:00 pm-8:30 pm each weekday evening. The Fall 17 class schedule was made available in WebAdvisor and Student Planning on Friday. Advisor registration approvals for Spring have been cleared.

  • The Religion Department will host a reception to celebrate the recent publication of several books by Religion faculty members: Jarvis StreeterGod and the History of the Universe (published posthumously in March 2016, Wipf & Stock); Rahuldeep Singh GillDrinking from Love’s Cup: Surrender and Sacrifice in the Vārs of Bhai Gurdas Bhalla (November 2016, Oxford University Press); and Lisa Dahill and James Martin Schramm, eds, Eco-Reformation: Grace and Hope for a Planet in Peril(November 2016, Cascade Books). The reception will be in Ullman 101 on Wed., Mar. 15 from 3:30-4:30pm, and will include refreshments and some brief remarks by Religion faculty members. Please join us!
