  • Graduate Commencement Speaker: All Graduate students are eligible to compete for the position of Graduate Commencement Speaker. Speech guidelines can be found on the Commencement website at this link.  Please encourage your students to email their speech submissions to Mel Spence at mspence@callutheran.edu or Gail Uellendahl at uellenda@callutheran.edu by Wed., Mar. 7. Judges selected from various graduate programs will independently and anonymously review written submissions and select finalists to move forward for video auditions.

  • Vice President for University Advancement Search: After more than 25 years of service to Cal Lutheran, Steve Wheatly will be retiring on May 31st. Steve has successfully served in the role of Vice President for University Advancement for more than 15 years, leading several fundraising initiatives that transformed our campus and enhanced our mission. The search for a new vice president is currently underway with a desired completion date of May 31 (click here for search ad/profile). The search committee is chaired by Matt Ward (Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing) and the committee members include Kristine Calara (Associate Vice President of University Advancement), Sue Chadwick (Board of Regents, University Advancement Committee Chair, KCLU Board), Veronica Guerrero (Associate Professor, Department Chair, Faculty Chair), Jessica Lavariega Monforti (Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences), Wyant Morton (Professor in Music), Kelly Owens (Director of the Office of Sponsored Research & Projects), and Howie Wennes (President Emeritus).  If you have any questions regarding the search process, please contact Matt Ward at mward@callutheran.edu.  Please note that the committee is observing strict confidentiality in the conduct of the search and cannot share applicant information.

  • Have you published a book or illustrated a work during the past year that will be published by April 2, 2018? Please let us know by Thurs., Apr. 5 so that we can recognize you at the Provost’s Reception for faculty authors and grant recipients, which will be held Tues., Apr. 24, at 5 pm in the William Rolland Gallery of Fine Art. Please email Roni Hooper at RHooper@CalLutheran.edu with a brief synopsis of your published book or illustrated work and the date of publication. If you have a photo file of your book cover, please forward that as well.  Thank you.
