  • Memorial service for victims of Pittsburgh hate crime: Everyone at Cal Lutheran is shocked and saddened by Saturday's horrific anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. There is no place for such violence and hatred in our society. In a show of support for the Jewish community, and for first responders, Rabbi Belle Michael, Jewish Life and Hillel will hold a memorial service today, Mon., Oct. 29, at 3:30 pm at the Student Union on the Thousand Oaks campus. Please attend so we can stand together against anti-Semitism while paying respect to the innocent victims.

  • Call for Proposals: Campus Community Day - Creating Space to Innovate, May 22, 2019. In an effort to add new sessions and respond to suggestions from the survey last year, the Staff Development Committee is issuing a call for proposals for Campus Community Day 2019! If you have an idea for a session that you or someone you know (a colleague, a community member) can offer at Campus Community Day, we want to know!

  • Kwan Fong Gallery presents: Lecture: Art and Community in a Vital, Material World, Thurs., Nov. 1, 4pm, Richter Hall. Admission is free. A reception will be held in the Kwan Fong Gallery following the presentation.
     
  • Community Leaders Association (CLA) Grant Proposals for Spring '19 awards due Thurs., Nov. 1. The CLA has funds available to support faculty in engaging within the community. Appropriate proposals include cultural events, seminars, outreach efforts, and community-based research. Click here to view a rubric that clarifies selection criteria for this competitive application. Funding is generally provided up to $2,500; to be expended by the following fiscal year end. The proposal request form can be found on the Academic Affairs Grant Funding website under Community Leaders Association Grants.   • Please announce to your students:  Applications are being accepted until Nov. 15for the STEM Research Abroad Fellowship offered through the Center for Global Engagement and OURCS.  We have full funding for one Cal Lutheran undergraduate to conduct research in a lab overseas, through Cal Lutheran's institutional partner, Arcadia University.  View potential projects.  More details about the fellowship and theapplication process on the OURCS webpage
  • Traditional Undergraduate (TUG) student registration for Spring 19 will begin onFri., Nov. 2.  On Tues., Oct. 9, emails were sent to students with their registration appointments (based upon credits completed).  The Spring 19 semester schedule is available on WebAdvisor and Student Planning.   • Interested in going to Italy this summer? Cal Lutheran's partner program in Rome is offering faculty fellowships in summer 2019.  Visiting fellows will be provided with accommodations at Richmond in Rome from June 17-29, 2019.  Please contact Lisa Loberg at the Center for Global Engagement before Nov. 16 for application and nomination information.  Final application will be due Nov. 26.
     
  • SAVE THE DATE! The Bachelor's Degree for Professionals office will be hosting its annual Holiday Toy Drive this Nov. 26-Dec. 7. They will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for infants, children and teens to be donated to the KABC SoCal Firefighters Spark of Love Holiday Toy Drive. Toy donation boxes (locations to be announced) will be placed around campus. Thank you in advance for your support and participation!
