  • As we continue the healing process in the aftermath of the recent tragedies, this is a time for Cal Lutheran and the greater community to show our caring for one another. If you’re concerned about someone, reach out, listen carefully, and consider offering specific aid. Do not hesitate to avail yourself and others of resources. Resources to Get Help or Give Help remain posted at the Cal Lutheran website. 
     
  • The Office of Campus Ministry is hosting "Recess Moments: 15 minute breaks in the Interfaith Meditation Chapel to center yourself and reflect," Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:45am and 2:00pm through Dec. 14. The Meditation Chapel provides a quiet space to take a short break, breathe and reflect as we journey together towards wholeness and recovery.
     
  • Staff and Faculty Lunch, Wed., Dec. 12, 11am - 1pm, reserved area in theUPSTAIRS Ullman Dining Commons. The discounted price of $8 + tax includes all menu options offered in the Dining Commons.

  • Incomplete Grades: In response to the email regarding incomplete grades that was sent out by the Provost, the Incomplete Contract form is now available as an online form.  The Incomplete Contract is meant to help a faculty member document for a student, the work that is left to complete  Faculty members can find the form here, on the Registrar’s web site under “For Faculty & Staff”.
     
  • Grade due dates:
    • Term 2 (8-week program) grades are due Sun., Dec. 16.
    • Fall Semester grades are due Fri., Dec. 21, at noon.
       
  • All Full and Part-Time Faculty are invited to the 2019 Winter Faculty Retreat, Tues., Jan. 22, 8:30am to 3:10pm, Lundring Events Center, Thousand Oaks Campus. The Keynote Presentation will be given by Bryan Dewsbury, Ph.D., a Gardner Institute Fellow and an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Dewsbury is the Principal Investigator of the SEAS (Science Education And Society) Research Program, which focuses on questions relating to identity constructs, bias, relationships, and the effects of those variables on learning in students (K-PhD). More specifically, Dr. Dewsbury is interested in how students (especially those in underrepresented groups) develop perceptions of the world and others, and how these perceptions might in turn affect their engagement with science content, career choices, and ultimately their academic performance.   • Grant application - The New American Colleges and Universities (NAC&U) organization has opened its submission system for this year's Collaboration Growth and Innovation (CGI) Grant. The CGI grant will support the planning and development of collaborative projects across NAC&U institutions. Click here for information about the grant program.   • College Administrative Fellowship Call for Applications – The CoAS Dean’s Office encourages eligible faculty and staff to apply for the Summer 2019 CoAS Administrative Fellows Program, a signature professional development program that focuses intentionally on developing academic administrative leadership skills.
