All Full and Part-Time Faculty are invited to the 2019 Winter Faculty Retreat, Tues., Jan. 22, 8:30am to 3:10pm, Lundring Events Center, Thousand Oaks Campus. The Keynote Presentation will be given by Bryan Dewsbury, Ph.D., a Gardner Institute Fellow and an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Dewsbury is the Principal Investigator of the SEAS (Science Education And Society) Research Program, which focuses on questions relating to identity constructs, bias, relationships, and the effects of those variables on learning in students (K-PhD). More specifically, Dr. Dewsbury is interested in how students (especially those in underrepresented groups) develop perceptions of the world and others, and how these perceptions might in turn affect their engagement with science content, career choices, and ultimately their academic performance. Spring 2019 Overload/Adjunct Faculty Contracts will be generated on the first day of class (1/23/19) and will be electronically distributed to the recipient's CLU email address the week of February 4. The electronic distribution will ensure a copy of the contract is delivered to the recipient promptly, and provide the recipient of the contract the ability to quickly/easily review and respond with any questions or comments. Also, the process will reduce the carbon footprint released by the Office of the Provost. The first pay date for Overload/Adjunct Faculty Contracts will be Tuesday, February 26.
