  • Faculty Night at the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival, Fri., July 19, Opening night of Richard II, directed by Michael Arndt (Theatre Arts). Faculty members and a guest will be admitted free - children under 18 are always free at the Festival. Festival grounds open at 5:30pm, show begins at 8pm. Drinks and snacks will be served. Bring a low profile, low back lawn chair or blanket and warm outerwear for cool evenings. RSVP to Academic Affairs at acaffairs@callutheran.edu by July 15.

  • Kingsmen Shakespeare Company (KSC) Volunteer Opportunities: Receive a free ticket for a future show, every time you volunteer! KSC has numerous opportunities for volunteers during the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening through August 4. Volunteers are needed in the ticket booth, merchandise/concessions and beverage booth. (The ticketing and concessions have more opportunity for sitting, and concessions is the least busy.) The time requirement is from 5:15 – 9:45pm. There is a significant break from 8-9:15pm, as booths close down during the first act, and then close for the evening when the show starts back up at 9:45pm. Families and friends welcome, make it a “volunteer” party! Contact Tim Hengst at thengst@callutheran.edu.
     
  • The Center for Global Engagement is looking to form a chapter of Phi Beta Delta, an honor society for international scholars. If you are interested in being on the Organizing Committee, please plan on attending an informational meeting on August 22 at 2pm in  the conference room of the Center.  This is purely an informational meeting, but R.S.V.P.s are appreciated.  You may look at Phi Beta Delta’s website here:  http://www.phibetadelta.org/.  For information about the meeting please contact Linda Boberg, committee chair, at lboberg@callutheran.edu.
     
  • Call for Papers: The Association of Lutheran College Faculties (ALCF) invite proposals for the 2019 ALCF Conference, being held at Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio, October 4-5. The conference theme is Remaking Ourselves: The Impact of Human Creativity on Humanity and the World.
