  • The university will hold fire drills on Wednesday and Thursday, October 2nd and 3rd.  It is important for all classes to participate in the fire drills. Please avoid scheduling any exams during those days as your class may be interrupted.
     
  • HSI Initiatives, the Center for Innovative Learning and the Department of Counselor Education are proud to welcome Dr. Gina A. Garcia to campus on Thurs., Sept. 26, to discuss our HSI identity, practices to better serve our students, and the complexities of HSI identities. Dr. Garcia is an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh, and she recently published her book, Becoming Hispanic-Serving Institutions: Opportunities for Colleges and Universities. Faculty are invited to the following presentations being given by Dr. Garcia:

  • Nominations and expressions of interest are invited for the position of Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholarship (OURCS).   • Don’t Cancel That Class – The Division of Student Affairs is pleased to offer Don’t Cancel That Class to faculty members who may be away for conference travel, meetings, etc.  You may request a Student Affairs staff member to present on a particular topic (e.g., job interview skills, dealing with test anxiety, study skills, etc.) or welcome them to present on the topic of their choice.  To make arrangements for an upcoming class, please contact Director of Housing Operations, Caitlin Hodges at hodges@callutheran.edu.
     
  • Fall 2019 Overload Contracts were generated on the first day of class and will be electronically distributed to the recipient's CLU email address the week of September 9. If you don’t receive an overload contract for a payment you’re expecting by the 16th of the month, or have questions about an overload contract you received, contact Jason Lopez at jplopez@callutheran.edu.
     
  • Fall 2019 Adjunct Contracts and Scheduling Notifications have been emailed for the fall. Adjunct payments will continue to be paid on a biweekly basis with respect to the hours submitted on the timesheet. The hours budgeted for an adjunct's assignment can be seen in the Scheduling Notification. If you have questions regarding a Scheduling Notification or a Contract, contact Jason Lopez at jplopez@callutheran.edu.

  • Call for Travel Seminar Proposals: If you are a faculty member interested in leading a Cal Lutheran Travel Seminar in the Fall 2020 – Spring 2021 academic year, please contact the Center for Global Engagement to make an appointment with the Associate Provost, Dr. Christina Sanchez, or Interim Director of the Office of Education Abroad, Mr. Brett Chin. Send your request to global@callutheran.edu and the Assistant for Global Engagement, Nighat Shah, will identify an available meeting. All meetings should be completed by Fri., Oct. 11, 2019. Please bring a draft of your course syllabus and initial travel plans (e.g., country, itinerary, etc.). We can also brainstorm options, if helpful.
