  • All Graduate Faculty Meeting, Mon., Nov. 11, 3:15 – 3:45pm, Swenson 120. The meeting is to discuss any current issues that graduate faculty are dealing with, and to discuss the graduate faculty’s involvement in the upcoming WASC visit.   • Veterans Day Celebration with keynote by Rear Adm. Eugene Fussell, Mon., Nov. 11, 11am, Kingsmen Park. Admission is free. The celebration includes food trucks offering complimentary lunch to the first 200 guests.
     
  • History Lecture Series: Accommodation and Resistance, presents Samuel Claussen (History) speaking on “Resisting Pizarro in Peru,” Tues., Nov. 12, 7pm. Lundring Events Center. Admission is free.
     
  • Staff and Faculty Lunch, Wed., Nov. 13, 11am - 1pm, reserved area in the UPSTAIRS Ullman Dining Commons. The discounted price of $8 + tax includes all menu options offered in the Dining Commons.
     
  • Withdrawal deadline extended - Due to the University closure on 10/30 and 10/31, the last day to withdraw, file a pass/no credit, and remove an incomplete from Spring 2019 and Summer 2019 has been extended to Wed., Nov. 13, at 5:00pm.   • Traditional Undergraduate (TUG) student registration for Spring '20 is in progress.  On Fri., Oct. 4, emails were sent to students with their registration appointments (based upon credits completed).  The Spring 20 semester schedule is available on WebAdvisor and Student Planning.   • Looking for a one-of-a-kind teaching opportunity? Interested in teaching Cal Lutheran students alongside jail /prison inmates or holding a skill-based workshop for inmates? Cal Lutheran’s Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program allows faculty to develop unique, immersion learning opportunities for majors. “Pathway 101” are workshops given by Cal Lutheran faculty in every discipline and delivered at the Ventura County Todd Road Jail to aid inmates as they prepare to reintegrate into society. These courses and workshops have proven highly rewarding for students, professors, and the community at large.   • Project CHESS Faculty Learning CIRCLE Collaborative application now open for 2020-2021-The Culturally Inclusive & Responsive Curricula for Learning Equity (CIRCLE) Collaborative brings together faculty learning communities (FLCs) from Cal Lutheran and Moorpark College to participate in a year-long professional development program that provides the tools to (re)design syllabi to be more culturally relevant, responsive, and sustaining for historically marginalized students. The application for the 2020-2021 cohort is now open to Cal Lutheran University and Moorpark College faculty. Program Dates- 3-Day Workshop: May 27-29, 2020;1-Day Workshop: January 8, 2021;3-Day Workshop June 2-4, 2021.   • Nominations and expressions of interest are invited for the position of Pre-Health Advisor. This position carries a three-year term and will commence in Fall 2020.   • Be reminded that all classes must meet on the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and all classes must meet during finals week. Failure to do so is a violation of federal regulations on the minimum required amount of class meeting time. Note: there are no TUG classes on Wed., Nov. 27 (the day before Thanksgiving), however, it is a reading day, so an assignment should be given.
     
  • All faculty are invited to the annual Faculty Holiday Reception, hosted by the Provost's Office, Fri., Dec. 6, 4-6pm, William Rolland Art Center Student Art Gallery. Significant others are welcome to attend!
