Spotlight

An Operational Update Webinar for faculty and staff is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, from 9-10:30 am. This webinar will provide updates including fall enrollments, financial aid strategies, and budget impacts. Information on connecting to the zoom meeting will be sent by email to faculty and staff.

Face Shields
: In a recent Q&A session, Provost Neilson stated incorrectly that face shields could be used to teach classes in place of a mask. If a face shield is used, a mask must also be worn.

Faculty Advisors: Many of you have been in regular contact with your advisees to check in with them over the summer. If you have not been in contact, pleased email all of your advisees this week. If you advise traditional undergraduate students, your advisee list has been updated with new students for the fall semester. A recent email from Angela Naginey to traditional undergraduate advisors provided instructions on contacting your advisees.

Trainings for Classroom Cameras: The Digital Learning Team will provide trainings beginning the week of August 3rd and continuing through the month of August on how to use the “owl” cameras that are being placed in classrooms for the fall semester. Further information will be provided in the Faculty Announcements next week.

Announcements

  • Message from Provost Neilson: Keeping up with email communication has always been a challenge, but over the past 4 months with everything going on with COVID-19, I am finding it impossible to stay on top of emails and respond in a timely manner. To remedy this, we have created a new email address, provost@callutheran.edu. Emails that come to this address will be accessible to me and to the staff in the Provost’s Office. Many of the emails that I receive can be answered by others, and I often forward emails to others for responses. This new email address will speed up our ability to respond to you. If you have a personal or confidential message that is meant only for me to see, then you should send it to neilson@callutheran.edu. All other emails should go to provost@callutheran.edu and you will hear back from one of us in the office. If you are waiting for a response to an email that you sent to me in the past few months, please feel free to forward that email to provost@callutheran.edu.
Academic Difficulty Notices for Traditional Undergraduates: Please keep these dates in mind as you prepare for the fall semester.
