Spotlight

 

 

  • Grade due dates for faculty:
    • Spring 21 semester:  Fri., May 14 at noon
    • Spring 21 11-week term:  Fri., May 21 at noon
    • PLTS Spring Semester:  Fri., May 28 at noon
  •  Notes regarding grading:
    • When submitting the grades for any class, all students in that class must receive some type of grade.  It is important not to leave any student’s grade blank.
    • An incomplete grade should be entered as IN when submitting your grades.  An In Progress grade, should be entered as IP when submitting your grades.  You can find the Incomplete Contract form here.
    • Pass/Low Pass/No Credit (P/LP/NC) grading:  If you are not sure how a student should be graded, you may submit all letter grades. The system will know if a student has changed their grading for the class to P/LP/NC grading and will convert your letter grade appropriately.
    • All grades of F, NC or UW (Unofficial Withdraw) also require a last date of attendance to be submitted before any of your grades will be accepted by the system.

  • Faculty Assembly meets today, Mon., May 17, 1-2:30pm, via Zoom. The agenda has been updated as follows:
    • 1) Senate actions requiring vote of Assembly
    • 2) Provost announcements with Q/A follow up Wed., May 19, 11am-12pm, via Zoom.
    • 3) Task Forces: Update and NEW for summer/fall 21/spring 22 work
    • 4) Faculty Regent Report
    • 5) Other business as needed (*To take up new business that has not been posted with 48 hours notice for faculty review, a motion from the floor, supported by majority vote, will be required.)
    • 6) FSEC for AY 2021-22

A drop-in Faculty Forum for more information on #s 1 and 3 above will take place Tues., May 18, 1-2 pm, via Zoom.

 

Announcements

 

 

  • Full-time Faculty - Please complete your Faculty Annual Report by May 31 or soon thereafter, so that we may include this information in the "At the Leading Edge" Faculty Accomplishments publication. The online form can be found on the Academic Affairs Website under Faculty Resources or click here. Note: An additional section on the pandemic has been added, with the questions "Please share any comments about the impact of the pandemic on your work. Are there changes that you made that you want to continue? Are there resources you need to do this?" Upon successful submission of your report, you will receive an immediate email copy.
     
  • Equity Advocates: If you would like to serve as an Equity Advocate on a future Faculty Search Committee, please click here. Training will take place over the summer.
     
  • The Academic Affairs Policies and Practices for Spring 2021 will remain in effect through the summer. Pre-Covid policies will go back into effect in the fall.
     
  • Save the Dates:
    • Faculty Retreat & Assembly: Wed., Aug. 25, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
    • Opening Convocation/President's Welcome (TUG): Thurs., Aug. 26, 3 - 5 p.m.
    • First Faculty Senate meeting in Fall: Mon, Sept. 13, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
    • Summer Senate meetings: TBD
       
  • August Faculty Retreat "Up Close and Personal" presentations - If you would like to present an "Up Close and Personal" talk at the August Faculty Retreat, please email Noelle Raffy, Chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee, at nraffy@callutheran.edu.
