Worship

Worship provides an opportunity for the community to gather and experience the bandwidth of God's grace. While worship unites us in one place and one time it serves as the reminder that God's people are gathered far and wide, just like the Cal Lutheran family.

Do you know that money gets tight for some of our students? A portion of the offering at this worship will be given to the student food pantry, please give generously.

Guest Preacher: Alumnus Brian Hiortdahl '92

Brian Hiortdahl '92 is in his 4th year serving as Senior Pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church in Overland Park, KS.  This is his third call since receiving his Master's of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, South Carolina in 1997. He has a genuine gift for illuminating God's Word of love and grace through the ordinary words we use to describe our arduous human experience. He also has a passion for Major League Baseball teams that wear blue. But if you are expecting Brian to "hit it out of the park" today with his sermon, he won't. Modeling his game after Jesus he prefers to execute the bunt sacrifice - so that you can score.
