LGBTQ+ History Month

LGBTQ+ History Month is an annual recognizition in October to observe lesbian, gay, bisexual, trangender, and queer history. This history month was founded in 1994 and continues to highlight LGBTQ+ rights and related civil rights movements.

This month the CCEI will be recognizing LGBTQ+ history from October 16th - November 16th with mutiple events, trainings, and celebratory events! 

List of Events 

Monday, October 19th - Friday October 23rd: Gender & Sexuality Week

This week there will be multiple events and programs for students, faculty, and staff to attend virtually and in-person that will educate and celebrate LGBTQ+ identities.

Wednesday, October 21st at 12pm: LGBTQ+ Curated Boxes

The CCEI will be creating curated boxes that have LGBTQ+ stickers, flags, and other items from LGBTQ+ owned businesses. Check the Hub for more details.

Tuesday, October27th at 12:00pm: LGBTQ+ Playlist in the Park

Join the CCEI in Kingsmen Park to listen to music showcasing LGBTQ+ artists and be one of the first 20 students to receive a free lunch!

Social Media Campaign

Starting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of LGBTQ+ History Month, the CCEI will highlight 3 influential LGBTQ+ individuals on the Student Life Instagram (@clustudentlife)

Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil & Workshop

On November 10th, the CCEI will put a vigil up on campus to show their respects for trans individuals that have been murdered this year. Then on TDOR, November 20th, CCEI Coordinator, Izzy Ortiz, will hold a Trans 101 workshop via Zoom.
