Lunar New Year 2023 - "The Little Year"

The Little Year (小年 / xiǎo nián) marks the beginning of the preparation for the Lunar New Year. From this day, people begin to prepare goods, clean house, pray to the stove god, etc. People carry out a ‘winter-cleaning’ of their houses to "sweep away the dust", and represents a wish to put away old things, bid farewell to the old year, and welcome in the New Year. 

Start off the year with your very own winter cleaning and come join the Center for Global Engagement to drop off any items (e.g., clothing, shoes, backpacks, etc.) that are in good condition but you would like to give away.

You can stop by CGE lobby to donate your items through February 6, Mon-Fri between 8am-5pm. Contact global@callutheran.edu with any questions. 

Embrace a new year and new you! Donations will be redistributed to a local charity association.
