Apply to Graduate
Three steps to ensure a smooth degree process!
The Commencement ceremony in May is a celebration of the many years of dedicated hard work that you have spent on your college education. However, participating in the ceremony in May does not necessarily mean that you have completed the degree requirements. Your degree will not be posted until you have finished all requirements.

What do I need to do?
In order to avoid confusion and frustration, complete the following three steps as soon as possible:
Review Your Senior Audit
Make sure to file your Application for Degree with Academic Services by October 1st to ensure timely processing and to avoid late fees. Senior Audits for students who filed their Applications for Degree after October 1st will be processed in the order they were received.
Carefully review your Senior Audit. Do all the courses you are taking for the Fall semester show up as CIP's or Classes in Progress? Are the only missing classes or blank spaces the ones you are taking in the Spring semester? Be sure to note the Residency, Upper Division and GPA requirements listed on the program evaluation. BE SURE TO READ THROUGH THE ENTIRE PACKET!
If you notice any discrepancies, have any questions or do not receive a Senior Audit, contact your Student Success Counselor in Academic Services. Each counselor covers a portion of the student body, based on the student's major.
Completion of Coursework
Upon completion of your projected last term, traditional students must have completed the minimum 124 credits with at least 40 upper division credits. Remember, your Faculty Mentor, Student Success Counselor and Academic Services are available to assist you, but you are ultimately responsible for making sure you have completed all major and general education degree requirements.
Application for Degree Fee
A $125.00 Application for Degree fee must be paid when you apply for your degree. This amount includes your diploma and first official transcript. There will be a $25 late fee for missing the priority deadline of October 1st for May graduation.

How will I know if I am eligible to participate?
Degree candidates for November 2021, December 2021, February 2022, May 2022, and August 2022 are eligible to participate in the May 2022 Commencement ceremony. Completion of degree requirements next Fall (2022) will place you on the May 2023 Commencement list.
Students planning to complete requirements by Summer 2022 and who meet the minimum grade point average requirements prior to the spring term, may be listed as candidates for their degree for the May 2021 ceremony. August candidates should normally be within 6-8 credits of completion of the requirements after the spring term and must be pre-registered for summer school at CLU by March 15th, 2022 to be eligible for the May 2022 ceremony.
All students planning to graduate in the summer of 2022 and walk in the May 2022 commencement ceremony will be required to take all summer courses at CLU. If students opt to take summer courses outside of CLU, they will not be eligible for the 2022 ceremony. If required courses are not offered at CLU in the summer, the student will not be allowed to walk; therefore, students must plan accordingly when registering for the Spring 2022 semester.
Additionally, all CLEP exams must be completed by March 27th, 2022 for any student graduating spring or summer of 2022.
