Chiddy Bang to perform CLU's first large-scale concert

(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – March 7, 2014) Hip hop artist Chiddy Bang will perform California Lutheran University’s first large-scale concert at 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, in Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center.

The concert will open with a performance by a CLU student group beginning at 8 p.m. Chiddy Bang will take the stage following the student group’s performance.

A native of Philadelphia, Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege formed what was originally a duo while attending Drexel University in 2008. Now a solo artist, Chiddy Bang mixes into his songs samples from artists such as MGMT, Ellie Goulding, Icona Pop, and Passion Pit. His 2010 MGMT-sampling hit single “Opposite of Adults” peaked at No. 90 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Tickets will be available for purchase beginning March 7 for undergraduate students for $15, March 14 for graduate and professional students for $17 and March 14 for CLU faculty and staff for $20. Purchased CLU-affiliated tickets must be picked up between March 31 and April 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Affairs Modular Unit 2. General public tickets will be available for purchase beginning March 21 for $20. General public tickets must be picked up at will call from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center on the day of the concert. All tickets can be purchased online at www.callutheran.edu/asclug. Ticket sales will end on April 3 or whenever the tickets sell out.

Doors will open at 7 p.m., and general seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center is located at 130 Overton Court near Olsen Road between Campus Drive and Mountclef Boulevard on CLU’s main campus in Thousand Oaks. Because minimum parking is available in the lot near Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center, guests are encouraged to carpool.

The concert is sponsored and hosted by Associated Students of CLU Government (ASCLUG), as part of its student event series Club Lu.
