First Year Students
The transition to college is one of the biggest steps you will take in life and New Student Orientation has been created to make this transition as stress-free as possible. New Student Orientation is all about you getting settled in a new environment, planning for a year full of academic and social growth, and getting to know new people.
First Year Student Orientation
On Tuesday, January 21, 2020 you will check into Orientation and be led by your Peer Advisor through activities focused on introducing you to the Cal Lutheran community. You will meet fellow students, figure out where your classes are, find out what the surrounding community has to offer, move into your residence hall (if you are living on campus) and much more! You will also meet your Mentor Team which is comprised of your Peer Advisor and Faculty Mentor.
- Peer Advisor - An upperclassmen student leader who is responsible for guiding you through your first semester and co-teaching your first year Seminar course during the Spring Semester.
- Faculty Mentor - A member of the Cal Lutheran faculty who teaches your first year Seminar class with your Peer Advisor(s).
INTD 101 - The Freshmen Seminar
As a first year student you will automatically be registered for a one-unit course during the Spring semester called INTD 101. The course is designed to further assist you in your transition to Cal Lutheran and college in general. We want you to succeed academically and get involved in extracurricular activities. The class meets every Tuesday at 11:25 am during the Spring Semester and is co-taught by your Mentor Team.
