Apply to Study Abroad

Steps to studying abroad include the following:

  1. Submit a Cal Lutheran Application

    Before you apply to your study abroad program, you must first apply and be approved by the CLU Study Abroad Center.
    Deadlines to apply to Cal Lutheran are: 

     -October 1 for spring
     -November 1 for CLU Program to Oxford
     -March 1 for fall and summer

  2. Submit Program Application

    Once you have CLU approval to study abroad, you will receive notification to begin the next step, which is to apply to your chosen study abroad program.

    Program Admission Requirements

    May include the following, but vary based on program choice:

    • Program Application
    • Official Transcript (Available from CLU Registrar’s Office)
    • Faculty Recommendation 
    • Additional forms such as the Credit/Course Selection, Disciplinary Clearance and Financial Aid Verification (Please note: These forms should be brought to the Study Abroad Center to be signed)

  3. Pre Departure Requirements

    Once you are accepted to your program, there are a few additional steps to complete:

    • Forward email copy of program acceptance letter to
    • Attend Pre-Departure Meeting & Orientation Dinner
    • Turn in Final Clearance Packet 
    • Obtain visa (as applicable)
