Reel Justice Film Series - 'Pray the Devil Back to Hell'

Reflecting on women, war and peace, Pray the Devil Back to Hell is a true story of the unsung heroines of Liberia, who, armed only with white T-shirts and courage, brought down a dictator and ended a long, brutal war. The film is directed by Emmy-winning and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Gini Reticker and produced by Abigail Disney.

The Liberian women in the film from the Mass Action Campaign for Peace have received both a John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage award and Gruber Women’s Rights Prize. The film premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival where it won Best Documentary Feature, and has gone on to win a number of other awards.

Admission is free.
