About
Dr. Cordova is an assistant professor, and he teaches general and organic chemistry courses.
His research encompasses an interdisciplinary program for the development of new anticancer therapies via two approaches:
1) Biocompatible Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) as potential drug carriers for the efficient adsorption and controlled drug delivery.
2) Organic synthesis, for the discovery of new chemical transformations to have access to relevant molecular architectures, namely spirocyclic compounds and heterocycles with potential applications as anticancer agents
Education
Ph.D. in Chemistry (University of California Los Angeles, Michael E. Jung)
- Total synthesis of kellermanoldione, 3-deoxyconferdione, and progress towards the synthesis of epi-conferdione
Expertise
Synthetic organic chemistry, chemical methodology, and materials science
