Mary Holden, M.S.

Adjunct Faculty Member


Mary Holden received her M.S. in Glass Science from Alfred University in New York, and her B.S in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University. She also worked as a research assistant at the Institut fur Werkstoffwissenshaften III Universitat Erlangen-Nurenburg.

She worked as a Senior Development Engineer for Therm-O-Disc, Emerson Electric(Fortune 100) working on temperature sensors and developing specific sensors for the SATURN car line.

She has worked at Midwest Components as a Process Engineer developing ferroelectric temperature sensors for an "in house process". She also did troubleshooting for glass encapsulated H unit sensors, PTC,and  NTC thermistors.

As a research assistant Mary assisted with court cases involving the fracture of glass and investigations on the cause of fracture. Her research involved the Healing of Glass in Humid Environments.

Mary has worked with and studied under world renown glass scientist Prof. V.D. Frechette while at Alfred University.
