Position Title
Two Full-time Tenure Track Positions
Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary
Basic Function
Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, long an active participant in the ecumenical and interfaith consortium of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU), and since January 2014, a part of California Lutheran University (CLU), seeks to fill two full-time tenure-track faculty positions in Berkeley at the Assistant or Associate Professor ranks, to begin August 2014. Potential candidates are expected to be excellent scholars with earned doctorates, possess promise for teaching excellence, demonstrate a willingness to teach online and an intentional dedication to collaborative work with other PLTS, GTU and CLU colleagues, and hold a deep commitment to forming and preparing persons for ministries in the ELCA and beyond.

Primary areas of competencies for the faculty positions:

Position #1: Lutheran Theology
 Luther studies, the Lutheran Confessions, and Reformation church history
 Lutheran public theology in contemporary, multicultural, and global contexts

Position #2: Homiletics
Secondary areas of competency desired for Position #2:
 Congregational practices, such as evangelism and justice, stewardship, and administration
 Pastoral Care
