New International Student Seminar

Welcome! We can't wait to meet you.
All new international students are required to attend New International Student Seminar held at the beginning of each fall and spring semester or term (for some graduate programs). Information necessary to maintain international student status is presented along with needed information about campus resources, policies, and activities.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please remember to bring all of your travel documents with you to seminar (I-20, I-94, Passport, Visa).
Fall 2012 New International Student Seminar
Friday, August 31 in Richter Hall, Ahmanson Science Building, 9am. Breakfast will be served between 8am and 9am in Overton Hall. Lunch will be provided, too.
Checking into the Residence Hall
You must go to Residence Life office, located in Mount Clef Residence Hall, between the hours of 8:30am until 4:30pm. The halls are available for occupancy on Wednesday, August 29. If you know that you cannot make it during those hours, then please find a hotel. Here is a list.
If you choose to live on campus, please fill out the Application For Housing. You will receive information about your housing directly from Residence Life. Filling out this application early may help you get the hall you are hoping for. You may not check in to your residence hall until Wednesday, August 29.

Once you get to campus . . .
The International Student Services office will have a tent set up by the Campus Welcome Center. Look for our canopy (it's purple with yellow letters). One of our International Peer Mentors will be there to greet you and help you find your way to Residence Life or wherever you might need to go. This tent will only be set up during the hours of 8:30am - 4:30pm. Remember that we will be hosting new international students at our New International Student Dining and Shopping Trip on Thursday, August 30. This is the first chance to meet other new international students, the international peer mentors, and us! Meet at the Student Union Building at 4:30pm. We'll board a bus, go out to eat, and help you get a few things you need for your life here in California.
