Meet the Author: Elyn Saks

An expert in mental health law, a distinguished scholar, and a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship “genius grant” recipient, Elyn Saks (Orrin B. Evans Professor of Law, Psychology, and Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at USC) comes to CLU to share her personal battle with schizophrenia and acute psychosis. Professor Saks will discuss how she learned to control her symptoms, make peace with the voices in her head, and go on to achieve both personal and professional success as a professor, author, and advocate for the rights of the mentally ill. She will be available to sign copies of her recent memoir, The Center Cannot Hold: My Journey Through Madness.

The book signing will be held in the Pearson Library Foyer at 2pm and the lecture will take place at 7pm at the Lundring Events Center.
