From Corporate to Startup: Lessons Learned From an Accidental Entrepreneur

Cal Lutheran's Center for Entrepreneurship continues 2015 with its third Entrepreneur Speaker Series event. Undergraduate, graduate, Cal Lutheran personnel and the business community are all invited. Please join us for another stimulating event in our popular series. 

Vanessa Ting is a former corporate executive and an award-winning entrepreneur and leader in women’s venture development. She now operates two companies - Retail Path, a retail consulting firm, and award-winning Buyerly, a B2B website that connects Retail Buyers and Emerging Brands for product feedback and wholesale orders.

Ting left her successful corporate career to pursue entrepreneurship after climbing the ladder at companies like Target and Johnson & Johnson Consumer. Her businesses, Retail Path and Buyerly, draw upon her 15+ years in consumer products marketing, product development and retail buying to help emerging brands launch better and faster in retail markets. Along the way, she found her passion for cultivating women-led businesses. Her next pursuit is to build a venture development organization that advances women entrepreneurship by supplying resources and education for sustainable growth.

Ting holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from University of Southern California and an MBA from Georgetown University. She resides in Westlake Village with her husband and three stepsons. 

The evening will begin with networking at 6 p.m. followed by the main speaker at 6:45. The event will conclude by 8 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
